Doujicon is a convention for artists by artists, and we are of the belief that comics and cartoons are not just for children,
but rather powerful methods of telling stories and conveying messages in their own right.
As such, you need to be aware that we abhor censorship in all forms, particularly the artistic blight of self-censorship. We do ask that the artists participating in talks, classes and selling comics and animations show a little common sense in what they put on or put up for sale, and we shall do our best in instructing them what is an is
not appropriate for display, and rules of sales to minors.
However, you, the attendee, must be aware that some cartoons and comics for sale
may contain violence, course language, adult themes, drug references, nudity and
possibly even sex. Artists selling such material will be clearly marked with proper,
uniform signage and placed in a specific ‘Adult Themes' area so that they are
made easier to avoid if their material does not interest you or those you care for.
such material are also being told to ask for identification of anyone that believe
Artists selling to be a minor, so as to avoid minors getting their hands on
material their guardians may not want them to have.
Once again, whilst we shall endeavour to be as family friendly as
possible, we are not in the game of censoring artists. You have
been advised.
