CODE OF CONDUCT
The primary purpose of Doujicon is for people to have some good, artistic fun. However, as we all know, rules need to be put in place to ensure that everyone has their fun and enjoyable time in a safe and responsible manner.
Whilst there are not that many rules to follow, they will be enforced strictly, to ensure that the few do not spoil it for the many. Please help Doujicon by ensuring that you follow them.
Please be aware that Doujicon is intended for a mature audience, and that the majority of materials available for reading or viewing at Doujicon will be as such: Mature (unrestricted), as recommended by the OFLC. Unrestricted publications are not recommended for people aged under 15 years. This classification is advisory only and has no legal age restriction.
Doujicon is, however, a convention primarily for the artists, and as such, places no restrictions on what the artists may bring. As such, some artists may have material above this classification. Artist that do will be placed in a designated area, and have signage on their table, and on the items in question, informing people that the content may not be suitable for minors. Artists selling this work have been instructed to request age-verifying identification from anyone that is not clearly over age.
ALL attendants at Doujicon must obey the rules for Attendees, Artists and Traders have further guidelines which they must follow.

ATTENDEES
Attendees must obey the following rules. Those that continuously breach rules will be asked to leave:
• You will be stamped on the way in. This stamp is your pass. It must be on a part of you that is clearly visible (we recommend the hand or forearm). If it begins to wash off, please ask to be re-stamped. If your pass has washed off and you leave, you may be charged for re-entry as the Staff cannot be expected to recognise you;
• Children under the age of 12 MUST be accompanied by a legal guardian at ALL times. Children under the age of 12 will NOT be allowed in without a guardian present;
• Do not loiter in high traffic or narrow areas, such as doorways, stair wells, corridors or bathrooms. People need to get through, and you blocking the way is not only inconvenient, it could be dangerous;
• Do not engage in disruptive, dangerous or violent behaviour. This includes swearing loudly and excessively, or just generally ruining the good time others might be having. Just because you don’t think you’re being a jerk doesn’t mean you’re not being a jerk;
• Verbal harassment of Staff or other Attendees will not be tolerated;
• Sexual misconduct or harassment of any kind will not be tolerated. It’s not fun. It’s not funny. The police will be called if necessary;
• Do not assume anything is free unless it clearly says so. Theft will not be tolerated. If in doubt, ask the person on the table, or if no one is immediately available, the person at the next closest table. Worst case scenario, come back later, they’ll be there all day;
• Consumption of alcohol is not permissible in the convention itself. There is a licenses bar directly beneath the convention if you have to have a drink… They also do a decent parmigana;
• Smoking is banned inside the building and on the walkway/mezzanine. If you wish to smoke, please go to the lawn outside. Smoking inside will set off fire alarms. If you set off a fire alarm, and are deemed to be responsible for it, you will be charged for the Fire Brigade call out. Anyone that deliberately sets of a fire alarm will be handed over to the Authorities;
• Weapons of any kind are banned! This includes any item that may be a part of costume. You will be asked to place such items in the Staff room, to be picked up when you leave the convention;
• Please wear footwear at all times, particularly in screening theatres and classes;
• Illicit drugs of any kind are not allowed to be consumed within, or brought into, the premises;
• Photography at the convention is permissible. However, many artists may not want their work photographed. If you wish to take photos of artwork either in the trading area or in the art gallery, please seek permission first;
• Do not remove signage! Much of the signage is necessary for safety, directions or instructions;
• If you have an issue of any kind, immediately seek out a Doujicon Staff Member. Do not seek to resolve a conflict on your own. Please be aware that where a breach of law happens (theft, assault, sexual harassment, etc.), Authorities may become involved.

ARTISTS & TRADERS
• You may not sell Comics, Cartoons, Animations, etc., or any form of Merchandise from a professional comic in its original condition. All material sold must be independent and original works. i.e You may not sell a Marvel or DC comic in its original form. You MAY sell Marvel or DC comics that have been cut up and collaged into a new comic. Artists and Traders with merchandise that contravenes this will be asked to put it away, as it directly goes against the point of the convention. If in doubt, please ask one of the Doujicon coordinators;
• Do not use more space than you have been allotted. You may be encroaching on the space of another;
• Do not put up signage outside of your designated area, unless you have prior permission. You may only put up signage using blu-tac, or a similar adhesive that does not leave residue. Adhesive tapes are NOT permitted. Pins may only be used on backing boards;
• There are power outlets about the place. If you have not paid for it, please do not use it. Doujicon is charged by the venue for electrical usage at each point;
• Do not physically or verbally abuse Attendees for ANY reason. If there is an issue, please involve a Doujicon Staff Member immediately;
• Do not engage in dangerous or disruptive behaviour. Shouting your wears like a green grocer is permissible, getting up on the table to re-enact a fight scene from a John Woo movie is not. Just use some common sense here;
• Please ensure that you already have a cash float with you on the day. Doujicon cannot help you out if you forgot to bring change with you;
• And finally, if you have an original self-published comic, please consider donating a copy to the Monash University Clayton: Manga Library. They will keep in as part of their Australian Doujinshi archive for others to come and read, and to use as part of academic study on comic culture here in Australia. They really need donations, so please help them out.
